Lauren Robles (b. 1988) is a mixed media artist and international art educator and instructional leader originally from Southern California. She received a B.A. in Art, Emphasis in Art History and Concentration in Education from Davidson College (2010), a M.A. in Art Education from Teachers College, Columbia University (2012), and an M.F.A. in Painting from Savannah College of Art and Design (2020). Her work explores a variety of two-dimensional materials in creating both female portraits and abstract compositions. Conceptually, she is interested in layers, both physically combining and layering mixed media materials and symbolically uncovering the layers of identity. Lauren has exhibited her work in North Carolina, New York, and South Korea. As an artist, she aims to explore, play and learn through process, and she lives this same philosophy in her classroom. As an educator, Lauren has lived and worked in Songdo, South Korea, Madaba, Jordan, and Guangzhou, China, and she is currently based in Warsaw, Poland. |
